Medford Multicare Center - Therapeutic Recreation

Our Therapeutic Recreation team is always striving to begin new programs to improve the quality of life for the residents at our facility. We now offer Symphony of the Senses.This program is available to residents on feeding tubes during the time meals are served to other patients and residents.The program includes tactile stimulation, aroma therapy, inspirational readings, music and trips outside. We also offer a volunteer program for residents who may be interested in helping around the facility. The program may provide them with a function and sense of responsibility. Examples include shredding, delivering mail, or reading to another resident.

Whether here as a long-term resident or a short-term patient, our Recreational Therapists, as part of our interdisciplinary team, learn about the resident, their likes and dislikes, what they used to do, and what types of activities that can be provided to engage them and enrich their lives at Medford Multicare Center for Living.

Our Therapeutic Recreation team is made up of 15 therapists and recreation therapy assistants with an average of 7 team members in the facility each day.

A full range of programs are offered for all levels of function and cognitive levels including Bowling, Barbecues, Bingo, Horseracing, Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Exercise, Trivia, News and other interactive and mind-stimulating activities, and Pet Therapy.

Spiritual programs are offered for all denominations. Live entertainment and holiday celebrations are provided, and we have wonderful monthly birthday parties to celebrate the lives of our residents.

Our Internet Café offers a place for our residents to go online, connect with friends and family, and belong to today’s social world. Trips out of the facility are available including shopping and luncheons at local restaurants.
